It means – reduce to fine particles and crumble to dust.
For it in Hindi, one may use many words such as
चूरा करना – अररना, अररना दररना, कणीकरण करना, चूर चूर करना, चूर्ण करना, चूर्णित करना, पीसना, बुरादा करना, भुरकुस करना, मसलना.

For the action of pounding (with a pestle), some common English verbs are - batter, beat, crunch, crush, pound, smash, triturate.
In the same sense, the archaic Middle English word is bray. Its exact meaning is to pound or crush to small pieces, esp. with a pestle and mortar.
