सच कहेँ तो इतना साधारण भी नहीँ होता साधारण!!!

सच कहेँ तो इतना साधारण भी नहीँ होता साधारण… इंग्लिश मेँ कहेँ तो सचमुच ordinary is not so ordinary. क्योँकि हम हिंदी वाले साधारण या ordinary का प्रयोग विशेषण के रूप मेँ ही करते रहे हैँ.

डॉ बदरीनाथ कपूर की Practical English-Hindi Dictionary व्यावहारिक अंग्रेज़ी-हिंदी कोश मेँ ordinary का अर्थ है- adj . common, usual, वि. साधारण, मामूली.

डॉ हरदेव बाहरी के बृहत् अंग्रेजी-हिंदी कोश Comprehensive English-Hindi Dictionary मेँ अर्थ हैँ – a साधारण, सामान्य, साधारणतः प्रचलित, मामूली, नियमित, रीतिगत, प्रथागत, अनपवादस्वरूप, नित्य का, सदा की भाँति; निकृष्ट, तुच्छ.

इस संदर्भ मेँ अँगरेजी के (यहाँ आप ध्यान देँ कि मैँ अँगरेजी के जो हिज्जे कर रहा हूँ वे डॉ कपूर के अंग्रेज़ी और डॉ बाहरी के अंग्रेजी से भिन्न हैँ, और मैँ हमेशा यही हिज्जे करता हूँ — इन का आधार है ज्ञान मंडल का बृहत् अंग्रेजी-हिंदी कोश—उस मेँ अँगरेज, अँगरेजियत और अँगरेजी को मान्यता दी गई है. विद्वानोँ ने यह भी समझाने की कोशिश की है कि यह शब्द रंगरेज़ की तरह नहीँ है. इस मेँ ज का प्रयोग होना चाहिए, ज़ का नहीँ. इस कोश के हिज्जे मेरी नज़र मेँ सर्वाधिक सम्मान्य हैँ, औऱ मैँ लगभग 99.9 प्रतिशत स्थानोँ पर उन का पालन करता हूँ. आप ने देखा कि बाहरी के हिज्जों मेँ हिंदी है, मेरे और कपूर के हिज्जों मेँ हिंदी… वह इस लिए कि अब हिंदी मेँ आम तौर पर किसी भी वर्ग – कवर्ग पवर्ग आदि के आधे पंचम अक्षर ङ् म् के स्थान पर उनके पूर्ववर्ती अक्षर पर बिंदी ं लगाने का प्रचलन मान्य हो गया है)
